While Garcia is no stranger to VS, we’re excited to announce she will be walking our runway for the first time. We sat down with the Miami Beach local to discuss her thoughts on the show’s return, Victoria’s Secret memories, life outside of the spotlight.
Q: How does it feel to be part of the show’s return?
A: “I am so honored and excited. The energy surrounding the return is fresh, as we are representing all women across all sizes and backgrounds —including myself! The show is coming back in a new way that fosters an uplifting environment for women and I’m proud to be a part of this revitalization.”
Q: What does the show’s return mean to you?
A: “Wings are back, baby! The show’s return is really symbolic of Victoria’s Secret’s efforts to create an inclusive brand identity. The return demonstrates how the brand has been listening to its customers and is looking to empower women of all sizes from all corners of the world.”
Q: What are you most excited about?
A: “I’m most excited to see my look for the show—especially the wings and shoes! The most thrilling part of walking a show is all the pieces working up to the debut from the fitting to rehearsals. It’s a big rush of adrenaline as soon as you hear the music that you will be walking to.”
Q: What do you think the show returning means for other women?
A: “I think women are really looking forward to such a meaningful return of the VS runway. A lot of my friends are planning watch parties already, which shows how different the return is being perceived and the excitement of the audience!”
Q: What’s your first memory with Victoria’s Secret?
A: “My first VS shoot was on my birthday, so it was the ultimate birthday gift. We shot in Upstate New York, and I remember how nervous I was as we got close to location. When we arrived, I was instantly struck by the view of the Hudson River and everyone on set was extremely professional and kind. The day went by so quickly and smoothly, it was the perfect beginning to my relationship with Victoria’s Secret.”
Q: What’s life like off the runway?
A: “Lately I have been searching for more creative outlets—such as cooking and designing clothing. I have also been taking pottery classes which I find very meditative!”
Q: How do you feel most strong?
A: “When I get a good night’s sleep, eat well, and stretch. It’s important to me to eat food that gives me energy and makes me glow from the inside out. I also think being intuitive and answering myself honestly gives me strength.”
Q: What’s one thing you wish more people knew about you?
A: “If I could be anything in the world, I would love to be a competitive surfer.”
