The VSX Jacket & Shorts Combo That (Quite Literally) Made Me Hit the Ground Running
Activewear so good, I popped out of retirement.

To date, I’ve run nine half marathons, one full marathon, and a dozen 5Ks and 10Ks. I got into running after my dad passed away. He was an avid marathon runner, and I decided it was a cool way to honor him and get fit at the same time. What I didn’t expect was how much I would enjoy it. Running makes me feel unstoppable. It is physically taxing but mentally and emotionally recharging. I run when I’m sad, happy, mad, or stressed. It’s my favorite way to let go of negative emotions (thanks to runner’s high), and as a former gymnast, it taps into my competitive side as I strive to beat my mile times or crush a challenging hill. And of course, a brilliant excuse to treat myself to a new pair of Leggings or a Sports Bra.
Finding the right running gear can be a game-changer (there’s a reason why experienced runners warn against running in new items on race day) and for me, it’s been a literal stepping stone to success. Over the years, I’ve learned the wrong gear can cause chaffing, overheating, poor moisture and cooling distribution, bulkiness, digging, and a plethora of other icky side effects you won’t want to deal with as you continue to log miles.
Coming out of a recent knee injury, I’ve spent the last few weeks searching for new running apparel that was cute enough to motivate me to get back on the pavement (hey, when you look good, you feel good), but was also packed with expert functionality to sustain my longer runs, and ultimately, get me to sign up for another race.
Enter: the VSX ActiveFlex Run Short and VSX ActiveFlex Run Jacket.
Designed for the novice or veteran runner, the trailblazing shorts are ultra-lightweight and have a four-way stretch that moves with you. Meaning, whether you’re climbing hills, running on the sand, or trails, these shorts will adapt for optimal performance. They include a side vent to keep you cool and reflective properties for those that like to run after hours. It sits right at the waist and can easily be adjusted with the drawcord.

To no surprise, the Shorts are best paired with the matching Jacket. Perfect for early morning or colder runs, the quick-drying Jacket easily goes over a tank top or long-sleeve. It also features reflective properties and goes a step further with a hidden whistle for added safety.
Since discovering this winning set, I’ve started to train again (taking it easy as I continue to recover, of course) and just signed up for a 5K—wahoo.
Case in point, having the right gear is just as important as cross-training, controlling the mind, and hydrating properly. And trust me, the VSX ActiveFlex Run Short and VSX ActiveFlex Run Jacket will be your secret to unleashing your potential.
