Gigi Hadid Joins the Cast of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024
You ask, we delivered—one of our long-time campaign and runway models, Gigi Hadid, is officially walking the in the show this October. Scroll to read about her memories of fashion shows past and what she’s most excited about for the future.
Q: How many years have you walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show?
A: “I’m going to need a fact checker on that, to be honest, maybe four or five? But I’ve walked the VS fashion show for much longer before I actually got the show. I walked it by myself in my bedroom.”
Q: What comes to mind when you hear the words Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show?
A: “For me, it’s a dream come true. I’ve watched this show for as long as I can remember.”
Q: What have you missed most about the show?
A: “Just that feeling of the day of. It’s like our Super Bowl. Even though we’re all, you know, we audition separately and do our fittings separately and whatever—when you come together it’s really about hyping each other up, making each other feel beautiful, fixing each other’s crowns so to speak.”
Q: Do you feel that on other shows as well?
A: “The sisterhood and camaraderie of the VS fashion show is just super unique and special. I think it’s one of the only shows that feels like a project. It just feels like a huge celebration in the end.”
Q: What are the most iconic elements of the show?
A: “The wings, lights, outfits, smiles—how you can see people just shining through the TV.”
Q: How is music special in the show?
A: “The music is so important. I think that when I find out not only who’s performing, but then what section I’m in and what song I’m performing in, that’s like a really good way to prepare for the show. Not just walking, but like doing your makeup to it, and listening to it while you walk down the street.”
Q: What’s the most exciting thing about the show’s return?
A: “it’s everything iconic that we know and love from Victoria’s Secret—I think that the world wants so many parts of the old Victoria Secret Show back. But I think what’s so great about it happening now is that we’re asking for the things we love, and we’re also asking for a lot of new qualities that are important to us as a generation. And I think that we can have both. We can have the magic of the past and we can also do this again with our own set of expectations, and that’s what makes it beautiful.”
